Located approximately 190 light-years from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major , this gas giant is the centerpiece of a system that defies the traditional circular orbits seen in our own solar system. While Jupiter and Saturn trace nearly perfect circles around the Sun, HD 80606 b moves along a path so elongated that it resembles a comet more than a traditional planet.
